I'm an award-winning historical romance author. I write 'Romance through the Ages', with a story to tell from the Regency era to Ancient Britain, to Australia in the years immediately after World War One. I love writing about strong heroines finding the men to match them.
I live in Brisbane, Australia, where I work as an historian, researching and writing about Queensland people and places. I'm also a butler to three moggies - Hiro, Yuki and Hugo. When I'm not reading or writing, I love horse-riding, scenic walks and travelling. I dream of an around-the-world trip to indulge these passions.
I'm a winner of several awards for novellas and short stories. Can you see a trend about length here? I write short romances up to about 60,000 words long that you can read in a day. That's the type of story I like to read - fast, but engaging, romances that leave me feeling happy, and if the story stays in my mind for days, that's even better.
Writing Highlights:
The Wallflower’s Christmas Surprise – 1st in the Romance Writers of Australia's Romantic Book of the Year Award 2022 (novella category)
The Runaway Christmas Bride – 1st in the Romance Writers of New Zealand's, Koru Award of Excellence 2018 (novella category)
'The Jade Keepsake' – 1st in the Romance Writers of Australia's 'Little Gems' Short Story Competition 2018.
The Persuasion of Miss Jane Brody - 2nd in Steam eRead's 'Some Like it Hot' Romantic Fiction Competition 2013 and Finalist in: the Romance Writers of New Zealand's Koru Award of Excellence 2014 (short category); the Australian Romance Readers Award 2013 (favourite historical romance); and in The Chatelaine Awards for Women's Fiction and Romantic Fiction 2014 (historical romance).
